How Much Does the Triton Weigh?

Similar to their dimensions, the Triton's weight is going to vary depending on a few factors such as whether it is a single, double, or club cab, as well as which accessories you choose. The weight of the Triton goes from a low kerb/gross vehicle weight of 1,580 / 2,720 kg (GLX 2WD) up to a top of 1,995 / 2,900 kg (VRX 4WD).

The total payload of the new Triton ranges from a low of 930kg (VRX 2WD Black Edition) up to a maximum of 1,190 kg (GLX 4WD).

What about the Towing Capacity?

The Mitsubishi Triton has always been designed with towing in mind, but Mitsubishi’s latest iteration of the UTE elevates its utility to a whole new level.

The Mitsubishi Triton 4WD GLX, GLX-R, and VRX styles have the most powerful towing capacity in the Triton range, boasting a whopping 3.5 tonne braked towing capacity. While the GLX 2WD may have the lowest, it shouldn't be underestimated with its respectable 2.5-tonne braked towing capacity.

While the raw towing capacity is impressive by itself, where the Triton really shines is the technology that compliments it. The 4WD Double Cab Triton models feature a strengthened chassis, ensuring your Triton is ready to be put through its paces. Couple this with advanced Mitsubishi Trailer Stability Assist technology and Super Select 4WD (on select models), and the Triton provides a unrivalled towing experience. With these 3 key features, the Triton is ready to tow 3.5 tonnes when and where ever you need to when using a 3-axle braked trailer.

The Triton's 4WD System

The 4WD variants of the Triton feature Mitsubishi’s Super Select-II 4WD system, the most advanced and reliable 4WD system to date.

The system puts you in control by providing a range of different settings to adapt to various driving conditions. This allows the Triton to adapt to new terrains for superior driving comfort.

There are four settings to choose from:

  1. 2WD High range - this mode is designed to be used on sealed roads.
  2. Full Time 4WD - Unique to the Triton, this mode allows you to use 4WD mode even on sealed roads at up to 100km/hr.
  3. 4WD High Range with Locked Centre Differential - this mode is capable of tackling all but the very toughest terrain
  4. 4WD Low Range with Locked Centre Differential - designed to let the Triton take on even the most challenging terrain. When the centre differential is locked, you have access to off-road mode. This mode optimises engine output, transmission, and brake force in order to match and adapt to your terrain. This includes the ability to activate “hill descent mode” for travelling down steep declines.

What is the Turning Circle?

The latest range of Mitsubishi Tritons all feature an optimum turning radius of 11.8m.
